Bức ảnh kia thì nhiều người biết rồi, nó là một minh họa khá hay về cuộc chiến biên giới Việt- Trung. Có người nói bức ảnh đó còn là cảm hứng cho một bài hát mà rất nhiều người Hoa trên thế giới biết, nhiều người Việt Nam cũng biết, đó là bài 血染的風采, đọc là "Xueran de Fengcai" hay "Hsüe-jan te Fung-t'sai", còn phiên âm Hán Việt theo mặt chữ là "Huyết nhiễm đích phong thái" (Đại Cồ Việt) hay "Phong thái huyết lương" (Công Tôn Sách), dịch nghĩa sang tiếng Anh là "the blood-stained flag", còn Google cho nghĩa thuần Việt tương đương rất máu là "Máu mặt" .

Theo một người bạn học Asian studies thì:

However, after the Tian'anmen Massacre, the song began to be used by the survivors of the massacre to commemorate those who had died. The song became associated with the democracy movement within the People's Republic of China.( Nghe bài hát này ở đây)
